Synopsis

The author observes that graduation from the university correlates strongly with drug and substance abuse. From the verbatim accounts, the Global theme that emerged was that drugs and substances were taken to relax the mind. It was also noted through the organizing themes that stood out that; drugs and substances were taken: to relieve frustrations, during celebrations, for enjoyment and due to their alluring nature. However, they cause more harm than good to the academic success and graduation of the participants by altering their Central Nervous System (CNS). This qualitative research was facilitated through thematic analysis of the case study. The book is ideal for anyone seeking to understand the influence of drugs and substance abuse on graduation.
