Synopsis

This is the autobiography of Hannah Njeri Ngigi. It is a true story of how a poor girl raised in a poor background rose beyond the valley. As the second born in a family of four siblings, I lost my father when I was 7 and was raised by a single mother. I went through nursery, primary and high school regardless of the situation at home and the many challenges encountered living in such an environment. Life took a different direction when I lost the only bread winner at the age of 19, barely 5 months after completing my high school. I had given my life to Jesus Christ at the age of 17 and this gave me hope and assurance that God was going to take over and fill the huge gap left. My dreams of going to college were shuttered when the only bread winner was no more. A dramatic twist took place 19 years later after losing my mother when God opened an opportunity for me to join college. I graduated for the first time after a two-years program in college at the age of 40.

This book is an encouragement to me and to my fellow women and girls. It is a story and a practical blueprint that gives insights that can be used by others. It speaks the language of the issues faced by many families in today’s world. It is with this truth that I hope to mentor to build others and encourage them towards hope and godliness.
