Synopsis

As the Quality Assurance Director of Africa International University (AIU), I have had a noble task of ensuring the university complies with the accreditation regulations of the Commission of University Education. One of the tasks required of Quality Assurance Directorates (QADs) is to perform tracer studies as a way of evaluating the effectiveness of university programs. Although this book reports findings from sixteen years ago, it is amazing that most of the findings of the study are of practical value to date. At the time of the study, NEGST was a graduate level seminary with a license from the Commission of Higher Education (CHE) to operate as a university. The seminary transitioned to a full brown accredited university in 2011 and NEGST became one of the three schools of the university. Still, the findings in this book are useful to NEGST, to AIU and many tertiary level institutions that are concerned about the employability of their graduates. It is my hope that AIU and similar institutions of higher learning will find the methodology replicable in conducting similar tracer studies for diverse contexts.
