Euthanasia: The Right to Live or to Die
Synopsis
This book covers the controversial subject of euthanasia better known world over as assisted suicide or voluntary suicide. The book covers the various definitions for the word euthanasia and its Greek history in the introduction. Thera are two schools of thought covered in the book – those for and those against euthanasia. Those that are against euthanasia believe that no one man should be allowed to play God and nature must be allowed to take its course. On the other hand, some believe that human beings, under special circumstances, should be allowed a dignified death and a dignified relief from their suffering. The research covers some of the countries where euthanasia has been legalised and the circumstances under which euthanasia or voluntary suicide is allowed. Netherlands, being one of the first countries to have legalised euthanasia, is discussed.
