Tourism Issues in Kenyan Perspective
Synopsis
In this book, Dr. Jacqueline Korir opines that tourism is a multi-faceted discipline that is informed by diverse perceptions and views. The aim of this book is to provide tourism lecturers, students and practitioners with discussions and arguments on different aspects such as cultural tourism, policy and planning in tourism, challenges faced in tourism, sustainable tourism, among others. Most of the articles arose from research undertaken for assignments at postgraduate levels which the authors felt that instead of the effort of research and compiling going to waste, the same could be compiled to make others benefit by simplifying their work and at the same time disseminating knowledge from various sources. Consequently, the editor encourages students to take assignment writing, especially at postgraduate level, seriously with a view to turning them to publications. All the articles resulted from document analysis contrary to the common perception that academic publications require use of hard data collection instruments. The book will appeal to readers who are concerned with research, writing and developing concepts related to tourism.
