Government Funding of Public Universities In Kenya
Synopsis
Despite the role of universities in teaching, undertaking research, and training of skilled manpower for economic development, universities in developing countries like Kenya face financial crises. In this regard, Dr. Kipchumba sets out to reveal the mediating role of students’ enrolment on the relationship between government funding and improvements in college outcomes among public universities in Kenya. The author observes that government funding is highly related to graduation rates in public universities and the relationship between government funding and the public university students’ graduation rates is positive although weak. Likewise, the relationship between government funding and public university college development index is positive but weak too. This book is a must-read for university administrators, educational policy makers, and students of educational administration and management and economics of education in Kenya and beyond.
