Synopsis

This book addresses issues regarding job satisfaction of personnel in the work place. It specifically explores how various variables impact job satisfaction. It is an empirical study conducted among six Christian institutions of higher learning in Nairobi, Kenya in 2011. The author employs an eclectic approach by exploring theories of job satisfaction including content, process, and dispositional theories. Findings of this study indicated that job satisfaction was influenced by multi-dimensional and multi-faceted factors related to workers’ spirituality and work conditions. Finally, the author makes recommendations on how leaders of higher education institutions, faculty and administrators can work as a team to improve workers’ spirituality and work conditions for overall enhancement of job satisfaction of distance education personnel. This book is a must-read for leaders of higher education institutions and all students of educational administration and management.
